EVENT STARTS IN:
DAYS HOURS MINS SECS
This is going to be a special year for the Exmoor Explorer, and we have some important news for you so please make sure you read this.
For a start, we have moved the date of the event forward a week to Sunday 31st July to allow us to use Allerford Village Hall for our venue. The opportunity to create three new and challenging routes from there was too good to miss and unfortunately they already had a booking for our usual Sunday. We apologies in advance to those who have commitments on this date and can't make it.
But the big news is that this is going to be the last Explorer for a few years. We, Jackie & Dave, Neil & Wendy, John, Rob & Helen (and the rest of the team) have decided to have a break from running the event for a while. We won't be passing it on for another team to take over, we couldn't do that to our baby. Instead we will be recharging the batteries, putting out thinking caps on and may feel up for another challenge in a year or two. In the meantime we would like to thank you all for your support for our event over the last 18 years (has it really been going that long?) and would like to encourage you to join us at Alleford this year. Let's see if we can't go out with a bang and make it the biggest and best Explorer we have ever had. There will be more demand than ever for an entry so make sure you don't miss out, enter early.
Many thanks from the Exmoor Explorer Team!
DO NOT MISS THE 2016 EVENT
The Exmoor Explorer is a non-competitive, sell-out cross-country event, offering 500 riders multiple distance options; this year’s configuration will be in three loops, each of around 12 miles, offering 12, 30 and 44-mile options in and around Exmoor. The event, which is run on a charitable basis, takes riders through spectacular routes, many of which are not normally open to the public, and offers a legendary tea stop with unlimited cake of a very high calibre!
2014 PHOTOS NOW ADDED
Head on over to the gallery page to see a selection of images from this years ride. Most of the shots are taken from the first two loops as the third loop beat the photographer!!
